Being Prez
Posted by Mac
Means you have to do everything? I thought it was supposed to be just sit here and look pretty.
I appreciate everything people do like you wouldn’t believe. But I hate it when people don’t do their job or I am here waiting for them to do it. It’s very frustrating for me because when people don’t do their job it hits home and it tell me “I DONT RESPECT YOU” I don’t respect you enough to do what I volunteered to do.
Most leadership positions here at the Lake are on a volunteer basis and I understand that. But just cuz you it’s volunteer doesn’t mean that you get to turn it on and turn it off. I am calling everyone out including myself. I also recognize that there are times when I don’t do my job and it gets me more upset than anyone else. I hate not being able to do my job or having to let people down because I don’t want to disrespect anyone.
However I don’t get the same from others. That’s what has always frustrated me.
People need to get off their high stools, get on the ground and work the floor. Plow away and see what real work is. Give me a week off where I can concentrate on something else like…..oh how about school?! I think that’s the real reason that I’m here right!?
I’m real upset. i sacrificed so much for everyone else and people can’t even sacrifice one thing. Not even one inch. I feel unappreciated.
What can you do to help?
Just do your job.
Thank you
From the Prez
PS I guess this is what being prez means.
It’s been 20 years

Ugh that’s so gross even to write down. 20 years…. man where does the time go by? It seems like just yesterday I was breaking a kid’s arm in Kinder and running away from the school security guards in 3rd grade.
even better eating so much pizza at the Chevron pizza party in fourth grade that I threw up in the rest room along with about 5 other fatty kids ( at the time I was actually annorexic looking damn how i took that for granted )
or even better my 5th grade years when our teacher told all the boys its time for us to start wearing deodorant because we smell
6th grade …. ah we were the big kids on campus now and then we went to 7th grade and it turned out to be like a nazi camp ran by administration that thought middle schoolers should be punished for everything and should wear uniform.
8th grade came a long and its time to go away
9th grade was the year of new beginings and it was great.
10th grade was just another blur cuz sophomores are always just lost in the crowd and no one really cares about them
11th grade I realized I was good at whatever I set my mind to and that I was already half way through school
12th grade was a HUGE different dynamic for me. Man……. a lot of stuff happened that year some good some bad but all of it would shape who I am now. I graduated in white and I was really happy I got to be with my friends that summer.
College Freshman year: it was a breeze
College Sophomore year: the wind kicked up
College Junior Year: hasn’t even started and I can already see the hurricane
ahahaha

So I never knew that CNN also reported on the most hilarious things. There are two things about this candidate race that many don’t know yet.
One is the search of the Presidential dog. Apparently most president’s have had a dog in the white house and Senator Obama promised his kids one as well. So there are actually five dogs that are in the running and you can actually go vote for them. One of them is the same breed as the dog that keeps winning the ugliest dog contest (hilarious by the way) You can look the candidates at the American Kennel Club www.akc.org haha hilarious
On an even more hilarious note - remember that old school concept of “shaking hands and kissing babies”? well at least I thought it was old school but apparently all that stuff is still in fashion. And now with the digital revolution it’s even easier to get you baby kissed by the candidates - or at least one of them. www.sendbarrackyourbaby.com is a website that instructs you on how to send your baby to barrack so he can kiss it. or hug it. or give it hope. or “Other” which is really just a request for him to molest our baby with your consent. Kinda sick if you think about it. Either way most hilarious thing ever. But of course it’s only a joke so I hope no one went to go buy the bubble wrap for the baby already - psh who am I kidding, no one would actually go buy bubble wrap its best if we just stick to the crumbled up newspaper.

Oh yea promote my stuff!!

There are a few things

I’ve been hearing a lot of haters about the iPhone lately. Psh was all I could say at first but now there’s a lot more things that I know about other phones that are out in the market right now.
So first off, yes I still believe that the iPhone is still the best overall phone out there. There is the Instinct from Sprint that just came out that is also supposed to be an ‘iPhone Killer.’ Seeing as how the iPhone is actually the dad of all these phones (or mom I don’t want to be sexist) I think it’s stupid that people think it’s really going to outbeat the iPhone. I’ve already said it many times that one of the main reasons why iPhone wins is iTunes. It’s a familiar way of putting up your music to an iPod which many have been using for a while. iTunes just makes it easy to move all your junk to one device.
Secondly, no one has really gotten the touch experience as right as Apple did with the iPhone. Othe phones are using touch — but it’s not multi touch. They’re also using a different kind (mostly because the iTouch technology was patented by Apple) of flick and drag which is a bit less responsive than the iPhone’s touch screen.
However there are other things that other phones have incorporated that Apple should’ve picked up and still has a chance to do. 1)Multi-Media Messaging : We need video and picture messaging but in order to do video….2)We need a video camera! 3) Sideways Text messaging: I’ve gone up and down on this issue because people really want to be able to flip their phones and get the same keyboard as when you flip your phone on safari. Personally it’s not on my super top priority list. 4) Live TV: Could live without it, I really don’t care all too much for draining my battery by noon. 5) Music Downloads over Cell network: I hate that I can only use iTunes on Wi-Fi GRRRR!!!
So as I said, there are good things, and there are bad things. But give me the choice in phones and I would still pick the iPhone EVERY time.
And here we go again

There is something in the Air again….except this time it’s something even better

It’s the all new iPhone 3G. All of a sudden people are becoming believers. This baby comes with twice the speed of the first phone and at only half the price. It is also being released in other countries on July 11th. Man this is gonna be sweet! Although, now it wont be such a priced possesion. More and more people will have them. You know at $200 this is really going to be a big thing. They are getting cheaper than the iPod Touch. I think those iPods may also be going down in price though. Man I just cant wait for that mobile me either. That is gonna be sweet.
So anyways I also just came back from Orlando for vacations. I must say that I really like Florida. Although I really dont like the fact that I am browner. That’s just no
Mickey was awesome and I got to build my own lightsaber during Star Wards Weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s sweet!
I will be getting off the computer now. It’s been a long day and I need some rest. Good night
Update on my Life

So there has been a huge gap in my blogs!!! I think a lot of people know why though.

So my school was on fire. Ah I just couldn’t believe that it was my school that was going through it. I mean I’m not saying poor me I can’t believe that this is happening to me, I’m just saying it was all very unreal. One of my jobs was there so we lost everything and I lost my accounting book ( I think that’s one of the good things that came out of this fire)
I must say that I was extremely scared. I mean first off we had all that vandalism and I was just like “oy porque dios mio?!” so anywho then we had a bomb threat and cat told me that I had to be up there in the bus stop with the rest of the administration because I’m part of some Crisis plan. And then we had the fire happened and it was just like…… oh no.
I must say that it was the best to learn how to do things. Talk about public speaking …. try it in front of the school at a prayer service and in front of Camera Crews. I learned how to keep my cool and I’m glad for that. ALSO, I think I was just wearing pure OLLU shirts for about 2 weeks. LOL even Jason was calling me out on it.

I also landed the rest of my life. I got a scholarship from The National Security Agency under the Depart of Defense Scholarship Program. I will be getting my school and my books paid for for the rest of college years, a summer interinship next year, and then a job at the Blank Blank Blank Blank (for security reasons). And an awesome stipend as well. I am so grateful that I get this opportunity but I know a lot more people are expecting more from me now so I will try my best not to disappoint.
Anywho, so now one of my offices is in St. Anns (my old residence hall) and my SGA office (which we kindly donated to Communications and Marketing) is now in the Campus Activities Office. And I also moved my room in one night. There has been a lot of moving!!!!
I got another 4.0 for this semester so woot!!!
I am excited and I am enjoying a Cold Caramel Macchiato with eddy in a Starbucks down by the River Walk. Life is good.

I have got to admit I’ve seen some stupid shows. A shot at love, I love New York, The Real World amongst others. But I don’t think I have ever seen a show as bad as this one. It really is one of the most horrible things that anyone could’ve come up with. It not only humiliates people, it breaks apart families, friendships, and marriages.
In case you haven’t seen it, the game show is supposed to be a shot at $500,000 for answering 21 questions of a series of questions that you were asked before you came on to the show. Prior to the show you were asked questions while hooked up to a lie detector and the point of the show is for them to ask you some of the previous questions with you answering truthfully in front of your family, friends, and other millions of viewers. If you answer false to a question but the correct answer was true based upon the polygraph test, you are eliminated and leave with no money. There are different rounds and checkpoints that you can drop out and take part of the cash but of course everyone wants the big money.
I can’t believe some of the questions that they ask “Have you ever regretted marrying your husband?” OMG and it’s promoted as a show that breaks apart families!!!!! This is some really screwed up stuff!! I mean as if we already don’t have the highest rating for divorce we have shows that try to get more divorces! ah I don’t know maybe it’s just my conservative side but you know, when Hitler was doing all that stuff in Germany I’m pretty sure there was someone who just thought “Geez…. I think you might be taking a little bit too far”

This is to you,
Person who was kind enough to slash our new flat screen TV in the lounge because it was too nice of Residence Life to give us a new TV. We wanted the old one that didn’t even use a remote. Thanks for protesting for us.
Person who slashed our couches because they already weren’t bad enough out of shape.
To you who just couldn’t hold it all the way to your room and felt the need to place your feces in our Laundry Room. And you didn’t flush.
To you who has already woken me up 3 times in the middle of the night (one of which I could’ve died in case of a real fire because my room mate was an asshole and decided to leave me for dead as I was left dazed and confused in my bed) and making me go outside and freeze with the other residents cuz that’s what we want to do on a school night. As if we don’t already stay up enough of the time.
To you who has already accumulated enough money into our community damages that I could’ve used to feed myself for the rest of the semester.
I made a little something just for you,
Thank you,
And believe me I speak for more than just myself.

Went to go watch Baby’s Mama (sp?) which was actually really hilarious LOL i dk theres just something about stereotypical white trash roles that makes it so much more hilarious. even better the boss in that movie is so flipping awkward. haha overall i give it a 4 out of 5 for laughter. However I figured out the end somewhere in the middle and i was pretty much ready to leave after that.
